Our Privacy Policy

Our fundamental privacy principle
The information that you supply to the Johnson Florist is considered confidential and will not be shared with others.

Is my order information private?
The information you provide us regarding yourself is considered private information and will not be shared with others. This includes your name, address, phone, e-mail address, and credit card information. The name and address of the gift recipient, and the card message is shared with the local filling florist, but with no one else. A copy of your order is not stored on our web server unless you choose for us to keep this information by signing up for an optional account.

Is my account information private?
If you decide to create an account with us, we will for your convenience store the following information on our server: your name and address, your recipients name and address, your order history, the reminders that you create, and if you so choose, your billing information. All this information is considered private information and will not be shared with others. This information is available to you after you enter a user name and password, and will remain available until you logout of our member pages or close your browser. Your password is stored using strong encryption and is unreadable by anyone including us. If you choose to store your credit card information, your card number is stored with strong encryption and cannot be accessed without the personal password that only you can provide. You can optionally store a cookie on your browser to automatically log-in whenever you return to our site.

Are contest responses private?
Periodically, Johnson Florist will encourage customers to participate in a contest. The information we collect from these contests will only be used to contact you or the recipient of the contest prize. The contest information is considered private information and will not be disclosed to others. The only exception to this statement is with respect to the contest winners, whose names must be posted per the contest rules.

What are cookies and how does Johnson Florist use them?
A cookie is a small file that can be stored on your computer's hard drive. Johnson Florist uses a cookie to determine the referring site. This cookie does not contain any information about you. If you sign-up for an optional account, we use cookies to support the account features. These cookies do contain information that uniquely identify your account. If you reject cookies, you can still use our site to order flowers, but you cannot use the account features and you may only purchase one item at a time.

What is an IP address and how does Johnson Florist use them?
An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer when you are using your browser on the Internet. The servers that run our web site identify your computer by its IP address. We do log IP addresses, but the addresses are not linked to individual customer orders nor are they used in any other way to personally identify our customers.

Does Johnson Florist ensure the privacy practices of other sites to which it provides links?
The Johnson Florist contains links to other Web sites including the Virtual Florist. Please be aware that our privacy policy does not apply to these linked sites. We encourage you to read the posted privacy statement when interacting with any Web site.

Are there any circumstances where you would share my private information?
We do not send totally anonymous gifts. If you send a gift without signing the card or you sign the card with an alias, we will share your billing name with the gift recipient if they contact us and ask us who sent the gift.

Also, in rare circumstances the private information you provide the Johnson Florist may be shared with law enforcement or investigative authorities if we in good faith believe that such action is necessary to; (1) comply with the law, (2) stop credit card fraud; (3) protect against misuse of our website; or (4) protect the personal safety of our site users or the public. The purpose of this disclosure would be to identify, contact or bring legal action against anyone who may attempt to cause injury to another's rights or property.

How secure is my Johnson Florist information?
When you place an order, you are given the option of using our Secure Order Form. By choosing the secure form, you establish a secure connection between your computer and our server using Secure Sockets Layers (SSL), a strong encryption technology used to protect the storage and transfer of your data from unauthorized parties.

How will I know when Johnson Florist changes its privacy policy?
If we decide to change the privacy policy for Johnson Florist, we will post those changes here at least 30 days prior to the effective date of the change so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will disclose it to anyone.
